I am happy to announce that I will co-author a two-volume monograph dedicated to the carnivorous plant genus Heliamphora, the so-called marsh pitcher plants known from the tepuis, the table mountains of Venezuela (on the border with Guyana and Brazil).
The books will be produced by Redfern Natural History.
Although I have been (co-) authoring scientific papers for over 15 years now, being an an author of a botanical book is a first for me and I feel humbled to have my name along those of mostly famous tepui explorers (see cover pictures below).
The books are currently being produced and, on top of the writing, I am stoked to tell you that I have been commissioned to provide a scientific illustration of ALL the species of the genus (I have only illustrated Heliamphora parva and H. electrum so far, so there are well over 20 taxa to illustrate) as well as 4 watercolor paintings in the same fashion as those I provided for the late three-volume Nepenthes books released by Redfern. These Heliamphora books can already be preordered here.
This is obviously a fantastic adventure that awaits and needless to say that I will be extremely busy in the foreseeable future!
Thank you for supporting my work and stay tuned for more updates!
