I have eventually decided to allow my Nepenthes pervillei to flower.

12 days ago, I showed you an emerging inflorescence that one of my 3 years old Nepenthes pervillei seedling was developing. I wondered at the time whether I should keep the inflorescence or not since it seemed to me that the plant was a bit young to flower.

After I balanced the argument for and against, I decided to keep the flower scape. I want to know if this plant is male or female and, since the specimen seems vigorous enough, I think I will collect pollen or, as the case maybe, pollinate. Of course, it would perfect to produce pure Nepenthes pervillei seeds. What a joy it would be. I'm inspecting daily all of my pervillei plants and I still hope that one of my other plants will also flower. Fingers crossed!

At this point, I can't confidently say if the plant is male or female. Any idea?

The whole plant.

Producing both an inflorescence and pitchers at the same time
doesn't seem to be a problem at the moment. ^^
